The Hangover Part III promises to be a much different film than the last two. This time around there is no wedding, there is no bachelor party, there is no forgotten night, and there's no search for a drunkenly misplaced friend. But just because the new movie has a new plot doesn't mean that it's not still a direct sequel built on the events from the previous two entries in the franchise, so the brand new red band trailer (via JoBlo) for the movie not only tells us where we're going with The Wolf Pack - but also where we've been.
With the movie so close to its release date it's a bit strange to see a new preview that has such a huge chunk of its run-time dedicated to showing clips from previous films in the series, but considering that Part III promises to be the conclusion, it's somewhat nostalgic to look back (not to mention good to have a solid recap of what happened in the last two stories). That said, there is also a decent amount of never-before-featured footage in here to make up for it.
Directed an co-written by Todd Phillips, who scripted the movie with Craig Mazin, The Hangover Part III picks up two years after the events in Thailand and finds Alan (Zach Galifianakis) in pretty bad shape following the death of his father (Jeffrey Tambor). Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Doug (Justin Bartha) agree to team up and take Alan to a rehabilitation center following an intervention, but their plans are sidetracked when they are ambushed by a mysterious man named Marshall (John Goodman) who demands that The Wolf Pack help him on his search for the missing Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong). The film also stars Melissa McCarthy, Heather Graham, Mike Epps, Sasha Barrese, and Jamie Chung, and will be in theaters next weekend, May 23rd.
As a bonus, we also have this new featurette for the film, which you can watch below courtesy of Yahoo!
