Lady Gaga Defends Miley Cyrus: Leave Her Alone! Lighten Up!

Miley Cyrus has at least two big names in her corner.

Father Billy Ray Cyrus spoke out in defense of her "God-given talent" in the wake of Miles' controversies of late, and now Lady Gaga has her back as well.

With the Miley Cyrus "Wrecking Ball" video still the talk of the web, Gaga was asked about the young star on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live.

Gaga's take on this? No one's forcing you to watch Miley!

"I mean, I think everybody needs to lighten up and leave her alone. Because it's pop music. Everybody's entitled to their own artistic expression.

"If you have a problem with it, just change the channel."

Lady Gaga, who's certainly no stranger to controversy herself, argued that Miley Cyrus' persecution in the media and online has been patently unfair.

"I don't understand the incessant need to constantly go on and on about hating things all the time because, what, she's 20 years old?" Gaga opined.

"And if anything, I give her props. You know, she's growing up in front of the entire world and maybe she's not so happy with stuff she did in her career when she was younger."

"She wants to be free, so let her do what she wants."

It's a good mentality, but when it entails Twerking like a woman possessed or riding around on a giant ball nude, people are clearly going to get fired up.

That's the point of it, right Miley? With record numbers of Tweets per minute during the VMAs and VEVO music video views to show for it? Just saying.

You tell us: Are people overreacting to the video?
